In addition to the aforementioned, every project has an obvious, obvious reason. The reason is that, in my opinion, it’s a lot easier to make a self-sufficient, self-explanatory self-assessment of the project. You know, the list goes on and on. Not only do you know what projects are, you’ve also got a great idea for what they are.
The more you know about the project, the more you can think things through. Being able to make a self-explanatory self-assessment of the project makes it easier to write a good, self-help book.
I think what makes a project self-explanatory is that you can take the idea from the project and put it into your own life in a way that makes sense for yourself. Its not that difficult to do this, I mean, sure, like you said, you can go out and invent a new project, but you can also take a project in a different direction and make it your own.
I don’t think you can ever take a project in a different direction. You can put it in a different context, put it in a different time, or put it in a different environment, but you can never take it “out of context”. You can only take it into someone else’s world, and that’s what makes it self-explanatory.
I’ve been doing projects for a while now over on the internet, but I’ve been thinking about how to craft a new one.
Ive been putting things together for a long time, but I feel like Ive been putting them together in a way that was very different from what I wanted them to be. That was the part that was hard for me. Making something that was very specific to certain things in certain contexts, that seemed to have no room for me to change it, just didn’t feel right. A project where you are making a specific thing in a specific place. I like that in a way.
But I’m a big believer in the idea of a project with a lot of potential. But even in that case I don’t think it would be that different from something simple. I think I need to start doing a lot of experimenting to see what I can come up with that is really special.
I know for a fact that the first few months of a game are extremely tough for any of us, but I think it’s going to be tough for everyone. It’s the only way to get the game on the table, so we’ll just have to see.
Exactly. The whole “first few months” thing is probably the most important thing to remember. In fact, I’d argue that the most important thing to remember is that the first big “real” project you do is the most important thing you do. So if you’re doing a project for the first time – because of the long development cycle, or because you’re a first-time developer – you should probably look for ways to improve on it.
A few days ago I was invited to a meeting with a friend. I talked to the guy and he said that he was working on a design for a new game, which is really a game in itself. I think the game was actually very popular for a lot of people. I was quite surprised to see what he was saying, because he was telling me about the game, and it was very cool that I would have done that.
