But if we don’t want these bad habits to keep on going, we have to choose to stop them. If we could just find ourselves in a place where we don’t have any bad habits to keep going, then we would be able to stop our bad habits and start something new.
This is the real problem with most of the bad habits we have. We live in a society that tells us how hard it is to stop and start, rather than how difficult it is to be the person we want to be, the person we know we are. If we could just stop and start, we would be far more effective. But, we cant, because it is just that hard.
When we can only focus on ourselves for so long, we allow our bad habits to take control of us. As long as we can only focus on ourselves, we just don’t stop and start. This is where our bad habits are most likely to grow. When we can focus on others rather than ourselves, our bad habits are usually stymied until we have to pick ourselves back up again and start over.
Bad habits are the most frustrating thing we can have, so we usually want to eliminate them. They are the last thing we can control and their growth can be disastrous.
